 Key Responsibility :- 

  • Responsible for planning and implementation of public awareness and advocacy campaigns
  • Responsible for Production of advocacy and public information materials
  • The Communication officer will do the content management of project webpage
  • Solely responsible for media monitoring and reporting of project

 Planning and implementation of public awareness and advocacy campaigns  

  • Assist the Program Manager in preparation of advocacy and communication strategy for Project in collaboration with partners
  • Plan, prioritize and sequence the implementation of activities related to advocacy and public awareness campaigns in close collaboration with the partners as per donor Communications and visibility policy
  • Establish effective links with media, civil society organizations and other stakeholders to smoothly implement advocacy and public awareness campaigns
  • Ensure effective and efficient implementation of advocacy and public awareness and campaigns

 Production of advocacy and public information materials 

  • Design layouts and facilitate Program Manager and the partners in press briefings and promotional material for advocacy and social media campaigns
  • In consultation with Program Manager respond to variety of enquiries and information requests internally and externally and facilitate in developing the correspondence
  • Draft information communication products, including media adversaries, press releases, feature stories and interview transcripts for partners in consultation with Program Manager
  • Supervise and manage audio, video and print production
  • Develop, maintain and update e-mail distribution list including government, civil society organizations, media and EU for visibility and transparency
  • Perform as photo journalist as and when required

 Content Management of EU Project webpage 

  • Design and maintain donor project website
  • Research and retrieval of data from internal and external sources for information campaigns
  • Coordinate, integrate and manage information contributed by lead partner and other partners for the webpage
  • Lead on web-based publicity initiatives to promote and raise awareness to ensure the continued and future effectiveness and efficiency of the webpage
  • Support Program Manager and GBV team in identification, documenting and drafting of best practises and lessons learned.
  • Ensure timely and relevant information with respect to project publications and public information such as transcriptions of social media campaigns, press conferences, photos etc.

 Media Monitoring and Reporting 

  • Follow on media reports on regular basis to assess project media strategy
  • Inform and update Program Manager of any untoward media reporting to develop if required counter policy for advocacy and visibility of project achievements
  • Support project team in IT related matters for uploading material/ documents on Horizon 2020 in compliance with donor regulations

IT 

  • To maintain the Management Information Systems and to advise on matters relating to Information and Communication Technology.
  • Ensure the availability, performance and security of IT systems and applications at the organization
  •  Assist in preparation of  tender specifications and advise on the selection of computer hardware and software, as required.
  • To co-ordinate repairs and preventive maintenance of hardware and systems software.
  • Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
  • monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
  • Responsible for troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults

 Qualification and Experience: 

  • Bachelor degree in field such as communications, journalism or media relations and/or other relevant fields.
  • At least 5 years position relevant experience in communication and media in development sector
  • Experience of working with international agency and/or NGO an advantage
  • Good understanding of local context, culture, vulnerable groups, and underlying socio-politico-economic situation and working with senior leaders and communities of diverse faiths

Other skills: 

  • Demonstrated analytical, motivational, communication and project conceptualization skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparation of internal and donor reports
  • Excellent English and Urdu communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Interpersonal skills and cultural awareness and ability to work in a multicultural, inclusive and equitable environment
  • Identify target audiences and create strategies to effectively engage them
  • Good understanding and experience about positive use of social media and digitalization tools
