Background
Chemonics seeks a social development specialist for the anticipated Department for International Development-funded Punjab Education Program (PEP). PEP supports the government of Punjab, Pakistan to deliver equitable access to better quality education through a range of interventions, including technical assistance to improve program delivery, capacity building to support institutional development, and policy reform. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide technical guidance on equitable education access and quality
- Oversee project efforts on increasing enrollment among socially disadvantaged groups, including girls, marginalized populations, and those with special education needs
- Lead a small team and coordinate with other teams to achieve project goals
- Coordinate with governmental actors and other relevant stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in education, development, or another relevant field
- At least mid-level professional experience in the education sector in Pakistan or similar contexts
- Demonstrated experience in special education
- Experience working with government officials and vulnerable groups, including women, children, and individuals with disabilities
- Experience with DFID-funded projects preferred
- Sector-specific experience in Punjab province highly preferred
- Demonstrated experience with socially disadvantaged groups
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Fluency in English required
