Background

Chemonics seeks a social development specialist for the anticipated Department for International Development-funded Punjab Education Program (PEP). PEP supports the government of Punjab, Pakistan to deliver equitable access to better quality education through a range of interventions, including technical assistance to improve program delivery, capacity building to support institutional development, and policy reform. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical guidance on equitable education access and quality
  • Oversee project efforts on increasing enrollment among socially disadvantaged groups, including girls, marginalized populations, and those with special education needs
  • Lead a small team and coordinate with other teams to achieve project goals
  • Coordinate with governmental actors and other relevant stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in education, development, or another relevant field
  • At least mid-level professional experience in the education sector in Pakistan or similar contexts
  • Demonstrated experience in special education
  • Experience working with government officials and vulnerable groups, including women, children, and individuals with disabilities
  • Experience with DFID-funded projects preferred
  • Sector-specific experience in Punjab province highly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with socially disadvantaged groups
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency in English required
