 PROGRAM IN GILGIT BALTISTAN

 Alight has initiated a program “Improved Access to Quality Education in Gilgit Baltistan”. The overall goal of the program is “Increased and equitable education and skills development opportunities for girls and boys in Gilgit Baltistan”. The program will focus on two thematic areas 1. Education and 2. Skills Development. The focus of its education component will be to enhance the enrolment, retention and quality of education in 4 districts of Baltistan (Shigar, Skardu, Kharmnad, Granche) and in 6 districts of Gligit (Hunza, Gilgit, Ghizer, Diamer, Astore, Chitral) of Baltistan and collaborating with Department of Education Gilgit Baltistan to support the interventions contributing in to achieving the commitments under its education strategy 2015-2030. In the skills development component Alight will focus on engaging with communities and stakeholders and conduct an in-depth assessment and market analysis to identify trends and demands of existing labor, business and employability trends and opportunities within Gilgit Baltistan

 JOB SUMMARY:

 The main purpose of this position is to provide technical oversight and management supervision to the program activities in Gilgit Baltistan. The position will also be responsible for reporting on the progress of program activities to the Country Representative.

The specific activities are to lead implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of Program in relevant region.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:-

  • Responsible for supervision and management of entire program team of Giglit Balistian
  • Lead the successful implementation and completion of the program’s agreed activities as per grant agreement
  • Lead the program’s technical,, financial and procurement planning and implementation
  • Lead to build and strong and formal relationship with department of education in Gilgit Baltistan.
  • Coordinate with district based teams for effective planning and implementation of district based program and financial plans.
  • Collaborate and work closely with MEAL department at Islamabad office to develop, monitor and report on programs activities on regular basis.
  • Collaborate and work closely with Communication department to provide information ( case studies, pictures, newsletter information etc) required for publications on regular basis.
  • Collaborate with the Operation and Finance Manager to ensure that program supplies and resources are available in a timely manner to support program implementation.
  • Provide orientations on program as per proposals to staff members internally and externally when needed
  • Ensure effectiveness of program activities on weekly/ monthly basis and submit weekly/ monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports as per set indicators and targets of program to CR in Country office, Islamabad.
  • Support exchange visits to share information, identify best practices and challenges and enhance collaboration and networking among partners.
  • Provide support and guidance to program staff to assist in their capacity-building activities.
  • Regularly report to the CR in all activities, weekly, bi-monthly & monthly with progress, achievements, bottlenecks to document challenges and lesson learned.
  • Assist with any other duties as assigned by the CR

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in Social Sciences or in a relevant subject.
  • At least 08 years’ experience in implementation of programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and report writing skills.
  • Experience of networking with Government line departments/ district administration and
  • donor liaison. 
  • Excellent analytical skills and should be a good and strong communicator.
  • Should have strong leadership skills and should be able to work accurately under pressure and in stress conditions.
  • Keep close liaison with the all departments and stakeholders
