Scope and Objectives:

The USAID Training for Pakistan project provides turn-key participant training and capacity development services that are uniquely specialized for USAID/Pakistan Mission teams and public and private implementing partners.  The primary purpose of this program is to provide participant training and capacity development services to USAID/Pakistan’s contractors, grantees, and partners under Government to Government assistance programs, and at times to the Mission directly. This Mission-wide program will support all USAID sector teams interested in exchanges or training of host-country Pakistani nationals.

Position Summary:

Under the guidance and supervision of the Communications and Outreach Specialist, the Alumni Engagement Coordinator will handle all Alumni related matters for the USAID Pakistan Alumni Association and support the grant management process.

Key Responsibilities:

Alumni Engagement

  • Work with the Alumni Association leadership in developing and implementing operations plan, guidelines, material and publications.
  • Act as event coordinator for Alumni Association activities and events working in collaboration with Alumni leadership, USAID and related stakeholders
  • Establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumni, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally; maintain regular communication with alumni via direct contact, email blasts, alumni web pages, and print publications
  • Ensure accurate and complete alumni database records; capture contact, biographical and career information of alumni via surveys, projects (e.g. alumni directory), correspondence, website, etc.
  • Oversee and balance the budget for Association, manage existing and/or additional alumni programs, services and communications
  • Develop content and manage the USAID Pakistan Alumni Association’s Facebook page
  • Support the Communication team in communication and outreach related activities

Alumni Multi-Purpose Fund

  • Under the guidance of the DCoP, solicit proposals from alumni for a funding up to USD 10,000
  • Facilitate the process of review of follow up support program proposals, implement monitoring, and final reports, via working closely with program and finance teams

Reporting:

This position will be based at the Training for Pakistan Project office Islamabad.  The Alumni Engagement Coordinator will be working under and report to the Communications and Outreach Specialist.

Key Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a relevant undergraduate degree in Communications, Media or closely related field. Higher qualification will be viewed as an advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with Alumni or other related associations/networks, media and communications including social media management and public relations.
  • Proficiency with photography, videography and graphic designing software packages such as Adobe Photoshop, CorelDraw etc.
  • Strong written & verbal communications skill.
  • Experience with the grant management process.
  • Team player, able to work respectfully and cooperatively with colleagues or different national and cultural backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated personal commitment to peace, tolerance and development.
