Scope and Objectives:

The USAID Training for Pakistan project provides turn-key participant training and capacity development services that are uniquely specialized for USAID/Pakistan Mission teams and public and private implementing partners.  The primary purpose of this program is to provide participant training and capacity development services to USAID/Pakistan’s contractors, grantees, and partners under Government to Government assistance programs, and at times to the Mission directly. This Mission-wide program will support all USAID sector teams interested in exchanges or training of host-country Pakistani nationals.

Position Summary:

Under the guidance and supervision of the Communications and Outreach Specialist, the Alumni Engagement and Follow up Support Program Coordinator will handle all Alumni related matters for the USAID Pakistan Alumni Association and support the grant management process.

Key Responsibilities:

Alumni Engagement

  • Work closely with the Alumni Association Regional Board Members, arranging meetings/activities/events and ensuring strong and productive relationships among the members.
  • Work with the Alumni Association leadership in developing operations plan, guidelines, material and publications.
  • Work with the leadership to prepare for Alumni Association activities and events.  
  • Establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumni, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally; maintain regular communication with alumni via direct contact, email blasts, alumni web pages, and print publications
  • Ensure accurate and complete alumni database records; capture contact, biographical and career information of alumni via surveys, projects (e.g. alumni directory), correspondence, website, etc.
  • Oversee and balance the budget for Association, manage existing and/or additional alumni programs, services and communications
  • Support the Communication team in communication and outreach related activities including but not limited to alumni engagement activities conducted via social media, such as Facebook, twitter etc.

Follow up Support Program

  • Under the guidance of the DCoP, solicit follow up support program proposals from alumni
  • Facilitate the process of review of follow up support program proposals, implement monitoring, and grants final reports, via working closely with program and finance teams

Reporting:

This position will be based at the Training for Pakistan Project office Islamabad.  The Alumni Engagement and Follow up Support Program Coordinator will be working under and report to the Communications and Outreach Specialist.

Key Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a relevant under graduate degree. Higher qualification will be viewed as an advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in relevant field.
  • Team player, able to work respectfully and cooperatively with colleagues or different national and cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong written & oral communications.
  • Experience with the grant management process.
