A public sector funded project, working for the development of selective value chains in horticulture sector, is inviting applications for the following positions

 

1.         Marketing Specialist:

  • Develop marketing strategies and activities for domestic market by establishing links to connect farmers with high end retail stores operating in Punjab
  • Develop and implement a plan for organizing international standards Expo for horticulture/ agriculture products and allied services in Punjab
  • Develop and implement a detailed plan for creating links between the producers and suppliers of quality products and the traders in domestic market
  • Conduct special marketing seminars, sessions and lectures for capacity building of the growers
  • Conduct value chain analysis of selected value chain to identify the gaps/issues in the light of the requirements of high end international market
  • Ensure that the international product requirements are being taken care of in the field activities throughout the chain process
  • Work for Horticulture Sector of Punjab
  • Liaison with International Marketing Consultants, PFVA. FPCCI and other stakeholders for finalizing international marketing strategies and
  • Activities for international market for the selected horticulture products
  • Support International Marketing Consultants in implementation of international marketing work plan for selected Horticulture Products
  • Facilitate linkages among local players involved in export activities of the selected horticulture products
  • Conduct special marketing seminars, sessions and lectures for training and capacity building of the exporters, processors, growers and allied stakeholders
  • Organize stakeholders participation and supportive arrangements for targeted international exhibitions, international promotional campaigns,
  • road shows, single country exhibitions arranged by International Marketing Consultants
  • Contribute in developing of quality Grade standards of Horticulture Products
  • Work for Horticulture Export Sector of Punjab
  • Other duties as assigned

Relevant Experience:

  • Must have Master/MPhil (marketing) degree in business, economics, supply chain, agriculture or closely related disciplines.
  • 10-15 years of regional / international marketing experience in an exporting/marketing company, in economic growth, trade, value chain competitiveness, agricultural development, and/or creating market linkages.
  • Agribusiness marketing experience and proven familiarity with marketing structures, strategies, rules and regulations for fresh and processed horticultural products.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Excellent communications and writing ability.
  • Fluency in both English and Urdu required; other Pakistani languages preferred.
  • Willingness to frequently travel to project areas throughout Pakistan for extended periods of time.
  • Understanding or prior exposure to agriculture/horticulture sector.
  • Work experience in a development agency or in a development project environment is preferred.

2.            Value Chain and Grants Specialist:

  • Improve horticultural supply chain systems 
  • Travel frequently, for periods of up to two weeks, for at least four months per year
  • Plan work schedules to meet agreed deadlines
  • Work with Government systems
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Must have Master/MPhil degree in business, economics, supply chain agriculture or closely related disciplines.

3.            Integrated Pest Management Specialist:

  • Responsible for comparing the technologies of conventional pest management and IPM based Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) in horticultural crops
  • Impart training to service providers and the farming communities about pest biology, the IPM approaches, new pest management strategies, and toxicology of pesticides for use
  • Provide technical direction and oversight on IPM to farmers in Horticulture sector
  • Work with least toxic course of action for treating pests and diseases, applying biological, cultural and natural pest controls
  • Other duties as assigned

Relevant Experience:

  • Must have Master/MPhil/PhD degree in Entomology, Supply Chain Management or closely related disciplines.
  • 10-15 years of regional / international marketing experience in an exporting/marketing company, in economic growth, trade, value chain competitiveness, agricultural development, and/or creating market linkages.
  • Agribusiness marketing experience and proven familiarity with marketing structures, strategies, rules and regulations for fresh and processed horticultural products.

4.            Training & Capacity Building Specialist:

  • Training design, training material development and training evaluations
  • Development of dynamic curriculum based on the knowledge level of training beneficiaries / farmers and requirement of markets and training modules
  • Design and implement priority training sessions on International Certifications and SPS issues
  • Development and execution of general awareness programs about SPS issues and Local / Global GAP to create awareness at mass level
  • Identify specific capacity building requirements and define the skills needed for the different participating stakeholders
  • Development  and costing of capacity building workshops for participating stakeholders, design capacity building modules and training plans
  • Develop networking, team-building, organizational and communication skill and technical report writing.
  • Other duties as assigned

5.      Consultant Expo/Sales:

  • Developing strategy, tactics, sales plans and profit targets
  • Developing relationships with clients
  • Planning exhibition hall layouts and activities programme
  • Selling stand/exhibition space to potential exhibitors
  • Seeking and securing sponsorship
  • Designing anything from online registration forms to floral arrangements
  • Utilize telephone solicitation, electronic and written correspondence and face-to-face meetings as tools in order to reach and exceed the budgeted sponsorship target for each conference
  • Research and develop a list of potential sponsors
  • Research and develop a list of potential exhibitors
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential sponsorship clients and exhibitors
  • Keep precise records of conversations with all clients, sponsors and exhibitors
  • Invoice sponsors and exhibitors once agreements have been reached
  • Assist in preparing promotional material to advertise sales opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned

Relevant Experience:

  • Must have Master/MPhil degree in Agriculture, Sales, Economics, Supply Chain Agriculture or closely related disciplines.
  • 10-15 years of regional / international marketing/Sales experience

6.      Executive Officer Grants:

  • Responsible for compliance and effective procedures related to and grants for the delivery of activities under the project;
  • Negotiate, draft and finalize grant agreements between the project and grantees;
  • Work closely with staff to obtain beneficiary signatures on all grants and compliance documents;
  • Ensure that all documents related to grants compliance are provided and placed in each beneficiary file.
  • Ensure that the data has been properly entered in grants tracker.
  • Support grants implementation in close coordination with the staff. Ensure all grant compliance paperwork is complete and on file. Maintain complete grant files of all project activities in both soft and hard copy;
  • Responsible for verifying disbursements under grants, including verifying completion of deliverables and authenticity of documentation;
  • Responsible for regulatory compliance of all project grants.
  • Assist Grants Manager in closing of individual grants and the closeout, including working with program staff to gather all necessary documentation for timely grant closeout upon completion of direct assistance.

Relevant Experience:

  • Must have Master/MPhil degree in business, economics, supply chain agriculture or closely related disciplines.
  • 2-3 years administrative experience in grants, contracts, or a related field
  • Experience using web-based database applications, auto-generate grant agreements
